White or tooth coloured fillings provide a healthier more natural alternative to traditional silver or amalgam fillings. They also allow for a minimally invasive restoration meaning more of your natural tooth can be preserved.
White fillings are now offered as a healthier, more attractive alternative to the traditional metal, amalgam filling and a treatment that we offer at Green Lane Dental Care.
Our aim is always to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible and with white fillings requiring a less invasive restoration, we recommend the treatment as both a cosmetic and healthier treatment to amalgam fillings. Request more information
For teeth that are either cracked or chipped, tooth-coloured fillings may be used to build up the tooth to restore it’s look and feel. Closing gaps, reshaping uneven or short teeth and filling cavities caused by tooth decay may also be treated.
Traditional Amalgam fillings contain a mixture of silver, tin, copper and mercury making them strong, durable and ideal for the back teeth that are less visible.
Used mainly in back teeth, where grinding occurs that are a cheaper alternative to ‘white’ fillings.
When using a composite white filling that is softer and easier to mould, we find it far more effective in treating chipped teeth or more visible teeth in the front of the mouth.
Once moulded to the desired shape we shine a blue light on the composite material to harden the filling. Being a tooth-coloured material, they are barely visible in the mouth.
The cost of a white filling is dependant on the size of the filling required, but prices start from as little as £70 per tooth. We will always discuss your options before beginning treatment, to ensure we provide the right treatment that suits your budget and requirements.
