Invisalign® Clear Braces for Adults

For years Orthodontics, otherwise known as 'teeth straightening', has been seen as a treatment only carried out on teenagers. Now with the latest technology, adults too can benefit from wearing a brace but without all the hang-ups of years gone by. With a clear alternative to traditional metal braces, teeth straightening treatment can now be undertaken without having to feel conscious about your smile.

The state-of-the-art Invisalign® Clear Braces from California are virtually invisible and are fully removable. Allowing you to continue doing all the things you normally would, from brushing and flossing, to eating whatever you like, Invisalign clear braces are also highly comfortable and convenient.

How do Invisalign® clear braces work?

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom made series of aligners created for you, and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you've always wanted. The best part of the whole process is that most people won't even know you are straightening your teeth!

Personalised clear braces to fit you

Once your dentist has determined that Invisalign is the right treatment for you, a detailed treatment plan will be created from which your bespoke, virtually invisible clear aligners will be made to order.

Take a look at the simple steps you and your Invisalign dentist will take on your journey to a brand new smile.

Step 1: Initial (Free) Invisalign Consultation

During your initial free consultation, your dentist will discuss the issues you may have with your teeth and discuss what your treatment needs are. Should Invisalign be suitable for you, a treatment plan will be mapped out with your requirements taken into account. Impressions of your teeth will then be taken and sent to the Invisalign laboratories for processing.

Step 2: Treatment Plan

The impressions taken by your dentist will be digitised so you will be able to see a 3D computerised treatment plan that allows you to have a say in your smile design.

3D Invisalign Imagery

You'll be able to see a virtual representation of your teeth before, during and after completion of your Invisalign treatment.

Step 3: Bespoke Clear Aligners

Clear Dental Braces ImageOnce you have agreed your treatment plan with your dentist, custom made aligners will be produced and worn for approximately two weeks before you switch to your next aligner in the series. Depending on your individual requirements, a full treatment will consist of between 18-36 clear aligners for both the upper a lower jaw, with treatment taking approximately 9-18 months.

Step 4: Treatment Process

You will need to wear your new clear aligners throughout the day and night as you would a metal brace, but with the added benefit that they can be removed for eating, brushing or flossing.

White Fillinga before and after

Every 4-6 weeks you will have a check-up with your Green Lane Dental Care Dentist to monitor your progress and to receive your next stage of aligners. During your treatment you will see a gradual movement of your teeth, eventually resulting in an even and healthy smile.

Invisalign treatment may help with the following teeth alignment problems:

What is Overbite?

Commonly referred to as an "overbite" and known to dental professionals as "overjet", an overbite occurs when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. Several causes for this may be either genetics, or over development of the bone that supports the teeth. This issue can lead to gum problems or irritation, and/or wear on the lower teeth and can cause painful jaw and joint problems.

What is Underbite?

This occurs when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth. Usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw or overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both, it may cause painful jaw and joint problems. Missing upper teeth can also be an issue that can prevent the normal function of front teeth or molars which can lead to tooth wear. It can also cause painful jaw and joint problems.

What is Crossbite?

Occurring when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned, crossbite causes upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and may effect both the front and sides of the mouth. This issue can cause wear of the teeth, gum disease, and even bone loss.

Over crowded mouth?

Quite simply this occurs when your mouth becomes overly crowded and the number of teeth are unable to fit normally in the jaw. If left untreated, it may prevent the normal function of the teeth and also lead to gum disease.

Widely spaced teeth?

Irregular continued growth of the jaw bone, when teeth are missing, or other teeth shifting due to extra space, wide spacing issues in teeth can cause some periodontal diseases. Clear braces are an easy to use solution to the problem.

What Are Dental Implants?

There are two parts to every tooth: the crown and the root. The crown is the visible part and the root is the unseen part which anchors the tooth in your jawbone, providing stable support for your crown. There are many ways to replace tooth crowns, but only dental implants can replace the entire tooth including both crown and root. Dental implants really are the next best thing to having your own teeth.

At Green Lane Dental Implant Centre, we are proud to recommend the use of the Astra-Tech implant system.
The Astra-Tech implant system provides a design which gives the implant superior strength. The surface of the implant has been treated to create a tight and strong connection between the bone and dental implant.
This maintains the bone level and supports the normal appearance of gum tissue. Together, all these factors reduce the risks for complications and improve function and aesthetics.

The root of a dental implant is made of titanium, which is placed into the gum to form a secure foundation, whilst the replacement tooth is fitted on top to create a comfortable, life-like replacement.

What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

1.Restore confidence and vitality

The fear of losing our teeth is something many of us experience. Today, tooth loss does not have to be a permanent problem – with dental implants your new teeth will look and feel natural; allowing you to live, laugh and enjoy life with total confidence.

4. Safe and reliable

Modern dental implant techniques and technology have been extensively researched and used for over 30 years. As longer term scientific studies have become available, it is clear that the long term success of dental implants is extremely high; making them the preferred solution of millions of people worldwide.

2. Amazing, natural looking results

The real beauty of dental implants is that no one will know you have them unless you tell them. Made to match your own teeth in shape, size and colour, dental implants provide natural-looking results that will make you want to smile at every opportunity.

5. Biocompatible

Dental implants are made of pure titanium which the body accepts like no other metal. They are therefore proven to be biologically compatible and can safely become part of your smile for a very long time.

3. A long lasting, permanent solution

The permanent way to replace missing teeth, bridges or dentures, dental implants are designed to last for years. In addition, dental implants are not susceptible to disease that commonly affect natural teeth such as dental decay or gum disease.

6. Keep youthful looks for longer

Filling gaps in your smile with dental implants means that over time, the rest of your teeth stay where they should be.

Dental implants preserve facial contours that would otherwise begin to look hollow with jawbone shrinkage when teeth are missing.
